Davis Advertising attended the 2023 Spring NEFMA (New England Financial Marketing Association) Conference on May 11-12, 2023. Davis Advertising was honored to win two awards, including a Gold and Silver award, at the conference and have our Director of Account Services, Natalie Bauer, invited to participate in a panel of NEFMA Award Winners.
Digital Marketing Award
In this category, Davis Advertising won Gold for a campaign created for East Cambridge Savings Bank. This campaign was created to advertise the bank’s Debit Card for Teens program on both Snapchat and Facebook. Our project concept for Snapchat was to reach teens aged 14-17 through animated videos that resonate with activities in their daily lives. The Facebook campaign complemented the Snapchat campaign by targeting an older audience–the parents of the teens themselves.
This campaign was a big success for the Bank, with 262 new accounts opened, far exceeding the goal of 150 for the initial months of the campaign. Since the start of the year an additional 326 Debit Card for Teens have been opened.
Video Marketing Award
In the Video Marketing category, Davis Advertising won Silver for a video created for City of Boston Credit Union. This video, titled “George Billington and the Coin Crew” was created to help support City of Boston Credit Union with their financial literacy programs for young people. George Billington was designed to teach young people about money, including how to save and spend wisely and mistakes to avoid. This video showcased our in-house illustration and animation capabilities.
NEFMA Award Winners Share Their Insights
In the panel discussion, Natalie Bauer was invited to participate in a Q&A to discuss our winning campaigns and top strategies that other banks can use to improve their own marketing. In the panel, participants discussed the key ways to stand out from the crowd when marketing financial products in a competitive market, how to stay current with the latest technology for reaching your targets and setting your bank or credit union apart. She also spoke about the key strategies for tracking success of campaigns and incorporating that data into ongoing and optimized campaign success, which is an especially relevant topic to banks who often face pushback from their financial platforms when it comes to tracking website conversions.
